Hofstra University Peer Alliance Program

As a peer mentor, I am assigned a group of incoming international students to keep in contact with and support throughout the school semester, in order to ease their transition to the American culture and the college environment.

In order to improve our leadership skills, global mentors are required to attend training seminars throughout the school year, participate in bi-weekly team meetings, and regularly report on our performance with Hofstra International Students Affairs office and the Hofstra Office of Student Leadership and Engagement. Once our assigned students arrive to campus, we lead their new student orientation and provide them with all the resources they will need to adjust to life at Hofstra.
