United Nations Foundation
Communications and Events InternÂ
January 2020-Present
As the Communications and Events Intern, I am responsible for assisting in all major campaigns and initiatives that promote the work of the United Nations and its affiliated agencies. I also assist with planning, logistics, speaker management and digital coverage for various critical moments on the UN calendar.

The United Nations Foundation links the UN’s work with others around the world, mobilizing the energy and expertise of business and non-governmental organizations to help the UN tackle issues including climate change, global health, peace and security, women's empowerment, poverty eradication, energy access, and U.S.-UN relations.
Major Campaigns
COVID-19 FUND
World Health Organization
During the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic, there has been a need for a communications plan that corrects misinformation regarding the disease, engages influencers and drives funding towards the response fund. For this reason, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Foundation partnered to launch the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and strategize ways to meet these goals. By securing partnerships with leaders in various industries, including private sector companies, we have managed to secure more than $1 million within the first week of launching the fund. We have also engaged celebrities to be a part of this fight, including Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Taylor Swift.
As an intern, this has been a unique experience for me since I have been able to join various meetings with representatives from the World Health Organization, and track all engagement for this initiative. By monitoring these discussions, I have also played a key part in finding strategic outlets in which our content fits in.
Global Goals Week
Partner Relations
Global Goals Week is an annual week of action, awareness, and accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative was launched by Project Everyone, the United Nations Development Programme, and the United Nations Foundation in 2016 and brings together governments, businesses, individuals, international organizations, civil society, and others during the United Nations General Assembly to build momentum to achieve the SDGs and ensure no one is left behind.

Global Goals Week consists of over 90 partners across civil society, philanthropy, youth, academia and the UN system. Partners include Global Citizen, Nike, Google, and Johnson & Johnson. I am responsible for assisting in managing partner convenings and special events through meeting preparation, note-taking and tracking, writing. I have also collaborated with my team throughout my internship, to draft a roll-out strategy for Global Goals Week's expansion into five new cities around the world.
